Hurley Bolt Pullers

hurley bolt pullers are some of the lightest, strongest, and most compact bolt pullers you can find.

These two bolt puller designs will soon be available for online purchase. Keep an eye out for further details!

Hurley Jr

This tool is designed for pulling directly on studs extending from the wall. It can be used to easily pull 3/8 wedge bolts after they have been spun with an appropriate spinner tool. It also easily pulls out 3/8" threaded split shafts. The tool weighs less than a pound and is only 1.375" inches in diameter.

See it in action here.

Care of the unit: Make sure to grease the tap bolt prior to use. Clean the tap bolt with a degreaser and regrease periodically. If the drive nut becomes lodged replace the tap bolt and drive nut before continuing to use.

Hurley Sr

This tool is designed for pulling on bolt hangers to extract split shafts up to 5/16", star drives, and is being tested with sleeve bolts. Swapping out the yoke for a coupling nut allows the unit to pull wedge bolts and 3/8" split shafts like the Hurley Jr, but with a risk of dinner-plating. It has a ball swivel bearing to allow the unit to correct for uncentered loads. It weighs three pounds.

See it in action here.

Care of the unit: Make sure to grease the tap bolt prior to use. Clean the tap bolt with a degreaser and regrease periodically. If the drive nut becomes lodged replace the tap bolt and drive nut before continuing to use. Make sure the ball joint swivel bearing is engaged at the top of the unit before attempting to extract a bolt. You will need to periodically replace the nut in the yoke (5/16" x 1" grade 8 cap screw) and the tap bolt/drive nut.
